Hello, my name is Michal.
Nature has been a part of my life since childhood. I inherited my love for it from my father, a volunteer ranger in the Tatra National Park, where my journey into photography also began.
I have been actively engaged in nature photography and conservation since 1998. I studied Chinese language and intercultural communication at the Faculty of Arts of Comenius University in Bratislava, which opened the door to international experience. Between 2007 and 2010, I lived and studied alternately in China and Slovakia, working as an English teacher and a tour guide alongside my studies.
As an interpreter, I have taken part in several photographic expeditions across the United States, Southeast Asia, and Europe, combining language, culture, and visual storytelling. Today, I work as an English teacher, tour guide, and interpreter in tourism, while also working as a freelance photographer.
My photographic work focuses primarily on wildlife, with a special emphasis on birds. My photographs have been published in Slovak academic collections, books, magazines, as well as in an international online photography journal based in India. I see photography as a way to bring people closer to the beauty of nature and to inspire its protection.
